Silent Witness

You have no secrets from the Silent Witness,
He follows you wherever you may go,
He understands you better than your mistress,
There’s nothing in your soul he doesn’t know.

There’s no pretending to the Silent Witness,
That you are unafraid, he smells your fear,
He realise at once when you are gritless,
And when your pose is false and insincere.

There is no lying to the Silent Witness,
He’s with you all the time, inside your head,
All other men you can deceive, they’re witless,
But he will never from the truth be led,
And to him you’re inseparably wed.
