LUTON SCHOOLS AND RELATED SCANS

David Webb was born at Luton on March 6, 1931 and grew up there attending Luton Grammar School where his stage career appears to have begun. Many of the publications below were collected during his schooldays.

Bedford County A.A.A. County Junior & Colts Championship, 1944
The above is a folded leaflet presented here in the page order 4, 1, 2 & 3.

Luton Grammar School: Luton Grammar School Annual Speech Day, February 21, 1945

Luton Grammar School: Luton Airport Orchestra concert, October 29, 1945
The above is printed on a piece of foolscap paper (13 inches by 8); it is folded in half and printed only on the front - page 1, and page 3. Side 3 looks as though it has been scanned inexpertly. It has not.
Luton Grammar School: Luton Grammar School Annual Speech Day, February 12, 1947
This document consists of 4 pieces of paper stapled together; page 8 is blank so has not been scanned. The scans here are the best I could make without causing serious damage to the original.
Luton Grammar School: Luton Grammar School Annual Speech Day, March 9, 1949
I found two copies of this fragile document among David Webb’s papers. It is comprised of 4 pieces of paper that were originally stapled together. Pages 1 & 2 are one sheet; the second sheet is page 3, the back is blank and has therefore not been copied; the third sheet is page 4, again the back is blank; pages 5 & 6 are two sides of sheet 4. The second copy is the same except David Webb (presumably) has written on it and has drawn two caricatures. He was quite a good artist among his other talents.
Luton Grammar School: Clifford Lloyd Brown Janes Memorial Organ presentation, March 30, 1949
Luton Grammar School: SEVENTH GRAND CONCERT, May 7, 1949
The above is a single sheet of foolscap paper folded in half and printed on the first 3 sides only.

The above 6 page document consists of 3 pages stapled together. The final page is blank. This is the best copy I was able to make without damaging the original.
Luton Grammar School: Luton Grammar School Annual Speech Day, February 15, 1950
This is 8 pages, ie 4 sheets stapled together; 1, 3, 5 & 7 are printed only; the blank pages have not been scanned. The name D.A. Webb appears therein more than once. This is the best I am able to scan this fragile document.

The first page of the above scan is the back page of the pamphlet; the rest are in order. It is one of a number of Webb-related publications that were given to me by Ted Goodman when we met at Leatherhead on February 10, 2015.
