* Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde (to give it its full title) is a short novel published by Robert Louis Stevenson in 1886. The term Jekyll and Hyde has long become a cultural reference. Referring to someone as a Jekyll and Hyde character implies that he (or she) is outwardly pleasant or bland but has a sinister alter ego. Many a serial killer has been alluded to as a Jekyll and Hyde character.
