In 1996, American researcher Laird Wilcox published a ground-breaking study of racially motivated crimes that never happened. Drawn mostly from reports in the local media, Crying Wolf: Hate Crime Hoaxes In America, documented case after case of alleged racial abuse, assault, even murder. Like the original, this short monograph, written from a British perspective, is long overdue. In addition to documenting many British cases the author covers historical and philosophical aspects of hate crimes and hate crime hoaxes, pinpointing the first recorded incidents of this kind, and tearing to shreds the self-serving statistics of the “anti-racist” lobby and the organised left whose incessant and dishonest lobbying has all but destroyed any honest debate about race and racial issues, and has fosted the racial intolerance and bigotry which “anti-racists” have ostensibly set out to oppose.
