Factitious Sexual Harassment by Sarah Feldman-Schorrig

1996: The above is published.

Although this article from an academic journal concerns primarily sexual harassment as its title suggests, the author also alludes to “factitious rape”.

“Based on the forensic examination of more than 50 sexual harassment plaintiffs, the author believes that some women who file claims are motivated by the need to portray themselves as victims.”

She discusses one anonymised case of a woman who made a false claim of sexual harassment at work; she was said to have previously made false rape allegations against a former lover several years earlier as well as claiming to have been sexually abused as a child, although we are not told how we know the childhood sexual abuse was real.
