“Recant and sign, or face the wrath of Science;
You doctor are a heretic, and bigot”.
His head held high, courageous and defiant,
He scorns the threats of academic zealots.
Would that he, Galileo, could return
And witness this Scientific Inquisition;
Nowadays, ’tis not the savant whom they burn,
But his researches, burn them with derision.
“Results like yours are irresponsible;
We have a duty not to just one nation,
But to Mankind considered as a whole,
(And also to our masters: the Foundation);
What do you think your dogmatism proves?”
He signs, but sotto voce “Still it moves!”
