The first link below leads to an advertisement that was published in THE TIMES as dated above; it was retrieved from the Times Digital Archive, which is why the name Taha as in M. Taha has been highlighted, and the name Mark elsewhere – relating to other people. This appears to be the first time Mark’s name appeared in THE TIMES, from his student days at Essex University. The advertisement is fairly straightforward, though it remains to be seen if Jews were ever as persecuted in the Soviet Union as their leaders would like us to believe, although they certainly made and continue to make more noise about any persecution anywhere – real or imagined – than anyone else. This is a very high resolution file and will probably need enlarging.
Mark believes this advertisement may have appeared in other publications, but once is enough for me.
