Scene: The outside of an office door. On it is a sign which reads FATHER DOMINIC: ACCOUNTS. A fist raps on the door.
Voice: (From within) COME IN (melodically).
(The door opens inwards to show a monk sitting at a desk. The camera moves into the office. The monk smiles. Another shot shows a bishop has just walked into the room. There are books, papers, a typewriter, etc, spread about the office. On the monk’s desk are an in tray and an out tray).
Monk: (Rising) GOOD AFTERNOON, BISHOP.
Bishop: GOOD AFTERNOON, BROTHER DOMINIC. I’VE COME TO PICK UP THE COLLECTION BOX FOR THE CATHEDRAL SPIRE.
Monk: (Tidying up the papers on his desk) IT’S OVER THERE, BISHOP (pointing).
(The camera switches to a side table on which stands a large bottle filled to the top with coins. Next to it is a small plastic container. The Bishop moves over to the table and picks up the bottle with some difficulty).
Bishop: UUUH, THIS IS A FINE COLLECTION, BROTHER DOMINIC.
Monk: (Moving into view) OH NO, BISHOP. (He picks up the plastic container and jangles it). THIS IS THE CATHEDRAL FUND; THAT’S THE SWEAR BOX.
(The Bishop’s face lights up in surprise. Fade).
