I have been very selective with these; there were for example numerous reviews of The Water Gipsies in which David Webb appeared, but unless he is mentioned by name in a particular review, there seemed little point including it. These cuttings are far from concerned only with his acting career – see for example the Chelsea News report for May 14, 1971. Any cuttings relating specifically to censorship will be found not here but in the NCROPA Virtual Archive.
I cannot vouch for the dates of any of these publications unless the cutting contains the printed date, but David Webb was a meticulous sort of individual, so they are most likely accurate. Unless of course I have misread his handwriting!

David Webb: footballer, circa 1971
The above file relates to the soccer player David Webb; it is a leaflet approximately 25.1cm by 18.1cm. The portrait is the back; the leaflet opens out as a Q&A. The scan has actually been rotated 90 degrees clockwise. I found this document in a small plastic bag together some cuttings related to this David Webb. You will also find some material relating to Chelsea and football on the main index page.
I thought initially that our David Webb may have followed Chelsea FC, but it probably appealed to his sense of humour, living in Chelsea as he did for most of his later life, and sharing the name of one of the club’s stars.
David Webb get a couple of mentions in 40 Years of CORONATION ST. by Daran Little which was published in 2000. I apologise for the poor quality of the two scans below which is due to a combination of a large book and small scanner.
