This article – which is in Portable Document Format – was first published in Chess Post, Vol 42, No. 2, March 2004.
Generally I scan pages individually but here I have experimented a bit, with predictable results! The bottom line of page 40 reads “As the Biblical saying goes, before you attempt to remove the mote...”; the final page, being an orphan, has come come out larger than the rest. Whatever, I hope reading this article gives you as much pleasure as researching and writing it gave me.
The above was published on this site October 3, 2008; I have today fished out the original in WORD format – and English classical notation!
