Massacre Of The Innocents

I bought a pirated copy of this official Rhodesian Government publication in 1980, if I recall. The quality of reproduction was terrible, it was either photocopied or mimeographed. Recently (August 2026) I was able to scan an original. It runs to 40 pages but the back page is blank, so I have not included that. Also, several pages that display photographs have been rotated for your convenience. It is easy to rotate a pamphlet if you are holding it in your hand, but is often inconvenient to do so on a computer screen.

This is an important publication for several reasons. One is that it shows the major victims of the terror campaign against this prosperous, democratic white-ruled nation were rural Africans, innocent tribespeople who for the most part had no interest or understanding of politics and just wanted to get on with their lives.

Christian missionaries were also murdered, people who had devoted their lives to these same tribal folk. The phrase massacre of the innocents is a biblical reference with which many of you will be familiar.
