LOST WEEKEND – ONE MAN’S CHESS CONGRESS

This article by Neville Twitchell appeared in the August 2000 issue of the short lived magazine Weekend Chess.

My interest can be found on pages 6-7. This is most definitely not the way to play the Sicilian Dragon, but I remembered playing the same line as white against Harrow public schoolboy John Stafford at Harrow Club more years ago than I care to remember. Although I won the game – in which if I recall, I castled queenside – he gave me a lot of trouble. But like I said, this is not the way to play the Dragon, developing the Queen’s Knight to Q2 is not to be recommended.
