Anti-Semitism in the Eighties, published in The Month, Vol. CCXLIII No. 1375 Second New Series Vol. 15 No. 4, April 1982, pages 125-30.

This appears to be the text of a lecture.

Page 130: “...the article suggested...that the Jews...have an exceptionally powerful hold on the formation of opinion, quite disproportionate to their numbers...”

As they do. Billig and his co-racialists at Searchlight are living proof of that.

March 1982: The scan below is from the back page of Searchlight; as I write these words thirty-five years on, it is difficult to believe that the left was once hysterical about so-called ethnic monitoring.

Ah! Mischief: The Writer and Television, various contributors, Edited by Pike, published by Faber and Faber, London, (May 1982).

David Edgar’s contribution is a chapter called On Drama Documentary, pages 14-29.

This is also the cover story. On page 292 one SDP supporter is quoted thus: “most politicians know nothing of what they’re talking about.”

Students’ president dies, published in the Staffordshire Newsletter, June 11, 1982, page 7.

It is worth quoting the following in full:

“Students Union president Dave Roberts died last week, aged 33.

Mr Roberts, of Sandon Road, Stafford, had been president of the North Staffs Polytechnic SU for about 12 months. A post mortem was carried out and the results showed he died of natural causes.

He was the driving force behind the campaign to save the Polytechnic’s Madeley site from closure, the latest achievement, fixing an interview with William Waldergrave, Minister for Higher Education.”

This was the only obituary I could find for Dave Roberts.

Refers to, among other things, “the inexplicability of the Nazi Holocaust”. Certainly the Gerstein statement is inexplicable, unless one is prepared to rewrite the laws of physics.

The November 1982 issue of Searchlight contained – apparently – a four page A5 leaflet – ie a sheet of A4 folded in two) called WHY THEIR NEWS IS BAD NEWS. Published by the CAMPAIGN FOR PRESS & BROADCASTING FREEDOM, it is an appeal.

This organisation’s address is given as 9 Poland Street, London W1, which will come as no surprise to those who monitor the activities of the extreme left.

Ironically, this is a protest against the masters of the media. Multinationals. Of course!
