(31) Copy letter David Webb/NCROPA to Marmaduke Hussey of the BBC, March 16, 1987
According to E.A.C. Goodman – who knew him well – David Webb was both an autocrat and a hoarder. Having visited his Flood Street apartment during its clearance, I can vouch for the latter, as can the fruits of my labours. Regardless of his style of leadership, it has become clear from my work on this archive that Mr Webb also exhibited at times a pronounced streak of meanness. The letter below, to the DPP, was written to correct a minor error in his previous letter. I have not included that letter here, but I have included other correspondence relating to the same matter, in which Mr Webb attempted to initiate a prosecution against Mrs Whitehouse for a breach of copyright – which could probably be excused as “fair use” or even Parliamentary privilege. He wrote to both the BBC (see above) and Channel 4 in connection with this.
